AFW Day 2 - Ruth Rogers, Chloe Marshall, Antiform

Bumped into Lizzie Harrison from Antiform Industries who has hooked up with Karen Dennis from Ketchup Clothes to show their recycled collection this week. Lizzie is bursting with practical knowledge and experience of making sustainable clothes and has fantastic enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. We will catch up with both designers later this week.

Model Chloe Marshall

Backstage we chatted to Amy Hostler whose jazz influenced collection is accessorised with mini turbans. Irving Vorster is the first designer to have come from Holland to show at the event and we were impressed by the attitude and work of the lads from Hackney Community College. Outside the changing tent Jesica Odoi was putting the finishing touches to her Rococo menswear collection - she told us she was looking to get her name out there and hoped she would receive offers of work in a studio.

Chloe Marshall is a healthy size 16 model who joined Ruth Rogers on the Body Gossip sofa. Chloe is committed to promoting healthier images of women and told us her experiences as a model include seeing colleagues with eating problems and issues about body image. Let's hope Ruth and Chloe succeed in getting the Body Gossip writing competition and stage play telling the true life stories of people's own body images. Unfortunately, a bunch of models who are working at the event, The Rogue Maidens, attacked the sofa and sprawled their website address across the front. "I am really unhappy with them," said Ruth, "it's just blatant advertising". Do the decent thing Rogue Maidens, head down the road and buy Ms Rogers enough calico to cover up your handiwork.

Tuesday's Catwalk Report

Ruth Rogers and the Body Gossip Sofa

We were unaware that this had been done, this was brought to our attention yesterday when we met Ruth and the situation had been explained. The said models have been reprimanded and have apologized to Ruth.
We had a lovely chat with Ruth and in full support of Body Gossip and have offered to work with her in any way which we could to promote what she is is trying to do.

The idea around Body Gossip is very positive, before starting Rogue i worked with children who who had massive body image issues as well as many other problems.

We have had e-mail correspondence from Ruth and are looking forward to seeing how we can work together on this. We apologise on behalf of the above mentioned models who are also very sorry for any offence which they may have caused.
