LFW rain and the official McQueen tribute wall

Pissing it down, wind and rain at the BFC here in Somerset House. Second season in at this HQ and still feels slightly strange to see the fashion sorts brush shoulders with those punters heading into the Courtald Galleries for a serious art fix. Now, inside the expensive, temporary structures that get erected for these few days, it's all bright lights, lipstick and random film crews stopping any one who looks like they could be worth five minutes of fashion fame.

The Lee Alexander McQueen tribute wall stands in the main lobby on the right. No expense has been spent (in stark contrast to nearly everything else happening in the BFC camp), it's just a noticeboard with some paper and pens below for people to write their tributes. Some are touching, some are in foreign languages and some are just weird. Love You Alex? Who is Alex? A few people are using it to promote their own jobs/urls, which is beyond sad. There is a note from Brix Smith Start and Vivienne Westwood and I wonder what the BFC will do when, in a few hours, this is all due to come down? Will each card be preserved and place carefully into a box, stored, kept for posterity, future exhibition, given perhaps to his family??

I would like to think some thought and care will be taken into what to do with this fashion public tribute.

I'll let you know when and if I find out.
