Rococo London launch at the Hilton

Just got back from the London catwalk debut of a new menswear label Rococo. Based in London it is a collaboration between Ibiza-born Angel Nokonoka and Hull-born financier partner Suneil. Angel graduated from Central Saint Martin's with a BA in print design in June 2007. Suneil saw Angel's graduate collection and immediately wanted to work with him. The label launched in Milan and then at The Collective in New York where it came to the attention of Mark Ramone. Mark, the designers told me, liked the clothes and is lending his support. He came to London tonight apparently he'd stopped off on the way to doing a rock concert in Dubai. I said 'hello' and asked if I could take his picture. He said yes and put his arm round Eric McKee the PR geezer.

Popped backstage and met Angel and Suneil. Angel is really focused - 24 outfits, embroidery and printing in the UK, all other production is in Italy. The models had gold hair and well good chunky jewellery. Good styling and Jeffery West shoes a right surprise. The collection - dip dye denim, leather and wool mix jackets, skinny leather tie, proper geezer sheepskin jacket, military coats, slimline jackets. Embroidered details, clip fastenings, leather bow ties, gold rivets on pockets and crotches, multi layered belts. It is a rock edged collection with rock royalty endorsement.

I thought it was cool...
Plus I had a good time... what more can you ask for? Eye-wink
