Sarah Brown's 21st century heroine - Naomi Campbell

This story has left me dazed and confused. Apparently Mrs Brown, wife of the current prime minister, has chosen Naomi Campbell as her 21st century heroine for a list complied by Harpers Bazzar. Bizarre I call it

Now Miss Campbell, originally from the people's republic of Streatham SW16, has hardly got a great reputation as a diplomat or well behaved person. If you are not familiar with some of Miss Campbell's recent antics, spend a moment or two to do some research and you will find some shocking behaviour towards airline staff and former employees as cited in court cases.

There has been quite a lot of violent behaviour reported. The 'supermodel' certainly doesn't strike me as an appropriate role model, but maybe Sarah Brown has some inside information/personal relationship with Naomi Campbell that has led her to make this decision. I don't know Sarah Brown or Naomi Campbell, I am aware that she has been raising money for children's charities and while I have no insight in to her motivations, I will say that I would not in any circumstances leave this lady in charge of any child in my care, whatever their age. The amount of reported violence associated with Naomi Campbell leaves me to believe that the lady may have issues to deal with and while she may be working for charities now, I would not risk her reverting back to form. I don't think that would be responsible behaviour. Presumably, Sarah Brown thinks/knows otherwise and as such would probably be quite happy for Naomi Campbell to look after the Brown children.

I wonder if Sarah Brown has any sort of advisor/press person helping her when it comes to things like nominations for 21st century heroines lists - I would be surprised if this sort of very public endorsement hadn't been checked/vetted/rubber stamped by someone associated with the Prime Minister's office and, if this is the case, I think someone somewhere should maybe think again.

The article, being in print, has already gone to press I understand, so it is too late to change her mind. This is already now in the public domain. Let's hope Naomi Campbell, who is a very successful buisness woman, doesn't misbehave in the future as this could make Sarah Brown look rather stupid.

I had the misfortune of reading a book 'penned' by Naomi Campbell some years ago - it was called Swan and I'd imagine it is out of print. I recommend if you are interested, you track down a copy and have a read. Enlightening it was in how shockingly badly it had been written. Not that Naomi Campbell actually claims to be a 'writer' but she is credited as the author of the book.

She's also been successful commercially at selling perfume. Just like her mate Kate Moss, formerly of Croydon. It is my humble opinion that both Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss are not appropriate role models for children, teenagers or adults and that they both have done south London a great dis-service. I am from those parts and in my experience, most of the young adults there are very well behaved and possess a healthy amount of London nous and common sense. Unlike, as far as I can see, these two supermodels. Less super, more model, methinks.
