Alexander McQueen and Puma
A site that does what it says on the tin - tell you about McQueen's collaboration with German sports company Puma.
It starts out a bit weirdy. A dotted map-like Puma logo morphs into the ManCat - a creation art directed by McQueen and shot by Nick Knight to symbolise the partnership. It works - along with the cat's tooth/human root logo which is afixed to most of the 8 men's and 7 women's styles in the current range. There are very decent photos of the shoes - this season McQueen continues to explore the antaomy of the foot in patterns and seem styles feature tribal markings. There's ample opportunity to examine the range and then a functioning list of retailers. While the biography and concept sections are quite informative, someone please tell someone at Puma how to spell Savile Row. This seminal street where British tailoring has lived for centuries and which has also been home to Mr McQueen's workplace, surely deserves to be namechecked correctly.
