HIM becomes a book by Robert Gordon McHarg III
Earlier this year we met Robert Gordon McHarg III, a London-based Canadian artist who has immortalised Charles Saatchi in a life-size model and dedicated an entire exhibition in a subway to 'HIM'. Now McHarg's obsession with collecting the ultimate art collector has been turned into a book which is published this month by British company, Trolley Books.

Featuring 101 portraits of HIM, McHarg says, "It's the biggest action figure I'll ever own, it's all about the artist collecting the collector, a David and Goliath battle over power and punch lines." The portraits are eerily realistic and funny at the same time. McHarg dresses Saatchi up in various guises and disguises, seeing him as a DJ, Mickey Mouse club member, graf artist and cowboy. It's an hilarious interpretation of one of the most powerful figures the British art world has ever known and it should win McHarg more fans and encourage people to visit his excellent underground art hang out, The Subway Gallery underneath London's Edgware Road. The Subway Gallery opened on the 6th July 2006, is set in a former key-cutting kiosk and hosts a range of shows all of which are free for the passing public to enjoy.
