The thing about Eley Kishimoto's shows is that whether they're to your taste or not, they always manage to cheer you up. So, after a long day of shows – and for those of us not rushing off to Valentine's dates – this gave the audience something to smile about.

One of the main reasons to be happy was that in a season where body-conscious silhouettes are dominating the catwalks it was nice to see a collection that celebrates volume and makes it flatter. Secondly, despite the fact that this is a label whose name is synonymous with print, it was considerably more restrained than in previous collections.

That's not to say print is absent – far from it. We love the flying bird illustrations and the zig-zag motif that jags its mustard, teal and grey way round everything from socks, and A-line jackets to narrow skirts and trenches. A sporty element is felt black pedal pushers, drawstring fastenings, gathered track-pant ankles, and jackets with bag pockets and wide, round collars. And check out those 'leg warmers' that fasten that fastened under the knee with big poppers.

Oh, and should anyone take pity and want to treat us to a belated Valentine's gift, a pair of gold shoes from the EK A/W07 collection will do very nicely, thankyou.
