Mon, 12/02/2007 - 7:15pm BFC Tents, Natural History Museum, SW7 Last season Manish Arora gave us a magical, springtime garden of Eden. For A/W07 it's all aboard good ship Crazy for a mind-bending trip across the space-time continuum.
According to Arora's vision of the future it won't be long before we're wearing clothes embroidered with astronauts, robots, alien landscapes, angel fish arranged to look like sci-fi houndstooth and sequins big enough to warrant their own moons. Women will have mutated into 7-foot tall android-vixens in latex leggings and sporting circuitry-covered bald heads. A riot of lurex, satins, wools, and silks came out printed and dyed in all the colours of the rainbow and worked over with intricate hand-crafted details, most notably on a cape whose fractal design is composed of thousands of finger-numbing pleats.
Despite all this Bladerunner gone barmy, however, there are some lovely 60s-inspired pieces such as trapeze-shaped shift dresses, A-line skirts, waist-binding hot pants, mod necks and flared sleeves on tops. If they ever decide to re-make Star Trek for the 21st century there's only one man for the job.
