Regine Mowill fuk@lfw a/w 07
Wed, 14/02/2007 - 2:30pm Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Baden Powell House, SW7 Last season, Regine showed a collection at Fashion Scout inspired by robots. This season she's back with a series of garments entitled Snakelike Dreams and Ladders. The ticket imparted various snake facts including information on their bodies (they have no eye lids and smell through their tongues) the types of venomous snakes (some inject the venom others chew it into their prey), and how snakes feed (there are no vegetarian snakes, just meat-eaters). The main snake reference in the collection is via print. Regine specialises in designing her own prints and this season snake skin print is in bold pink and blue hues which features in fitted, thigh-length and above-the-knee long-sleeve dresses and generous cotton scarves. Leather bombers appear alongside snuggly black faux fur jackets and coats (Regine is part Norwegian so she understands what it is like to be cold!) but the main focus here is on V-neck dresses with tie details at the shoulders, waist-cinching high-waisted skirts with fitted blouses. Probably our favourite piece is a pale blue knitted coat with overhanging sleeves - well nice. There is talk that Regine could be a contender for September's Fashion Fringe - so who knows, this time next year could even see her showing on-schedule. Words: Marian Buckley |
