Regine Mowill fuk@lfw s/s 07

This season, because we have had so many venues, it has been harder than ever for us to cover all the off-schedule shows we wanted to. So it was extra refreshing to arrive at Regine Mowill and be impressed by a recent graduate.

Regine graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA last year and Robots in Disguise is her second collection. Inspired by 80s computer games and graphics, this is a series of mainly cotton pieces which have been screen printed cartoon-style. She has obsessively printed lovehearts throughout - on dresses, jackets as little cut-outs on Jelly shoes. It's a bit like Regine has taken a hghlighter pen and drawn her dreams across her own clothes. One shift dress with little green robots repeated, looks like it has been created by potato-stamping. There are tunic neon tops which were worn with gold chains, jumpsuits in a Starburst colour palatte.

Regine has an unusual background - half Norwegian and half Japanese - and she's lived in the UK since 1994. She described her technique to us as 'exploring camouflage'. We like her fruity approach and simple execution of ideas and look forward to seeing her next season.
