Felder Felder fuk@lfw s/s 08
Mon, 17/09/2007 - 2:15pm Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Baden Powell House, SW7 While we were excited to be seeing the Felder twins' first LFW off-schedule showing, the long wait really did mar our experience. We missed doing backstage at Basso & Brooke (which was next on our schedule and way off in W11) and were just getting ready to hot foot it out the side door when the show actually started. The first outfit set the theme: accessories and architectural pieces rather than conventional clothing is the Felder Felder mission statement. That translates into a body/swimming costume with harness-style metal straps, a white body worn with a gauze apron, a single strapped cream mini dress accessorised by a thin belt and a black leather body with blue snakeskin panels. Felder's ladies look like they are at home in St Tropez and Studio 54 clubs. There are seventies influences here alongside some original ideas including wrapping swathes of chiffon around the body to create an unique black/maroon dress and the accessories which range from skinny belts to fat leather cuffs with huge silver rings, do work. Not so convinced by the practicality of all the sheer pieces and leather body pieces though. If you wearing Felder next year, you better make sure you spend spring and summer somewhere very hot.
