In general, show notes fall into two camps: hyperbolic pieces of prose of little use to the poor journo trying to file their copy or workaday lists detailing fabrics, palettes and silhouette which, whilst informative, don't help to pass the time whilst waiting for a show to start.

Luckily, whoever writes the notes for PPQ managed to conjure a winning blend of the two and even better, to do it in verse. In the form of a twelve-line poem a picture was painted of PPQ's muse, Palma Violet, and what she'll be wearing come ss08. According to designer Amy Molyneux, this collection is exactly what the Palma needs for summer…tough but tropical.

The fact that a baby-faced Peaches Geldof subsequently opened the show in a cutsey frock struck as a touch incongruous but the collection itself went on to deliver exactly what it had promised. Part prim and proper (pretty cardis and summer frocks) part S&M dominatrix (patent stiletto ankle boots and kinky belt'n'braces harnesses) it struck a foxy balance that will no doubt see the range fly out of PPQ's Mayfair boutique. But if black and white romper suits and teeny tiny shorts aren't your bag there's always the, er, bags and other ace accessories. From crotch-skimming necklaces festooned with massive hearts and tassels to tennis-ball sized hair bobbles; from super-sexy sunnies and massive crystal embellished bows summer's looking hot for all concerned.
