Recycle your jeans
Sun, 04/11/2007 - 2:17pmFor £45, Recycle Your Jeans will turn any pair of jeans you have into a pair of sandals, re-made here in the UK.
Recycle Your Jeans is part of Softwalker Ltd, one of the very few companies still manufacturing shoes in the UK. The factory is in Cumbria, used to be operated by K Shoes before Clarks bought the company. When Clarks moved all of its manufacturing to outside the UK, Softwalker was bought by Mike and Lynn Stables. The sandals made from recycled jeans are called Kalahari and are not dis-similar in style from Birkenstocks and are reportedly very comfortable.
