Tonic has been serving up top notch menswear from its Portobello premises since 2000 and while the website doesn't let you buy, it does give a sound sense of what the shop is all about.
Maura and Phil hone down and hand pick pieces from a range of labels each season and deliver a sound selection. Good denim is a house speciality and labels stocked include Diesel, Lee, Edwin, Holland Esquire, John Smedley and Red Wing. There are regular preview evenings and, with many customers working as DJs or in music/entertainment, offer an out-of-hours service too. Tonic is special in that all the stock is quality and the people running the shop are excellent at advising their customers.
