London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2009

For a/w09 London Fashion Week has been condensed and compacted. The British Fashion Council has decided to omit the London Underground adventures from proceedings, so this season we have an ultra convenient set-up. Both the exhibition and main catwalk space will share a tent, and bookending the official LFW base, the Vauxhall Fashion Scout will be back at Baden Powell House while On/Off is at its new home of the Science Museum.

Though LFW has been reigned in to nestle amongst the museums, there’s still a whopping 51 shows to be seen and as usual fuk.co.uk will be bringing you a sample of old favourites, promising newbies and a few LFW regulars that we haven’t covered in previous seasons. As well as perusing the exhibition we’ll be heading off-schedule, in case we forget what London outside South Kensington looks like. We’ll be Bethnal Green-bound for Samia Malik at a dry cleaners and House of Blue Eyes at Beach Blanket Babylon and back in Baker Street for Ann Sofie Back at the Topshop showspace.

What with LFW getting a bit of a facelift (or rather, a few nips and tucks here and there) we decided to add something fresh to the mix for you all to enjoy. At fuk.co.uk, we like to bring you fashion week using the latest technologies - we threw podcasts at you first, then video interviews and always blinding photos that document the daily shows. For London Fashion Week a/w09 we’re all a-twitter. We’ll be tweeting throughout the week - bite-sized bits of fashion fun to accompany a meatier daily round-up diary. So, if you haven’t already, follow us on Twitter; there’ll be candid snaps, perhaps some gossip but mostly a general insight into the whirlwind of London Fashion Week.

Enjoy.
