London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009

London Fashion Week spring/summer 2009 sees more diverse events taking place across the Week than ever. Alongside the packed official schedule and the off-schedule shows, we have another Fashion Fringe competition, a charity show by FAD and two Fashion Diversity showcases. The Vauxhall Fashion Scout, a platform for new designers, has expanded considerably this season with the addition of a new media centre featuring wi-fi access, refreshments and, optimistically, a sun terrace. This promises to be a welcome retreat from the madness of Fashion Week for members of the press.

We're sorry we won't be reporting on shows by Jean Pierre Braganza and Aganovich, both very talented designers whose previous shows have become firm favourites. On the positive, there are lots of debuts from emerging designers which we will report on including Olanic, Hemyca, Theatre De La Mode and some seasoned favourites we'll definitely catch up with including John Rocha and Eley Kishimoto.

This season, our video reports are being created by Mark Scarratt and the team at Brightonart. There will be catwalk reports with photography by Ian Gillett plus a daily blog promising a live and up-to-the minute insight into what wows us and our thoughts on the daily goings on.

As well as dashing round London to both on and off schedule shows we hope to check out the Esthetica exhibition which will be back for its fifth season at the BFC tents, proving that ethics are still on the LFW agenda and not just a passing fad.

It's not just live catwalk shows at London Fashion Week and with this is mind we're going to try to head to the Vidler & Nixon film showcase on Monday evening as well as trying to relieve our disappointment at not seeing an Aganovich show by seeing their film presentation on Friday.

Hope you enjoy our coverage.

The terms "fashionable" and "unfashionable" were employed to 350-040 describe whether someone or something fits in with the current or even not so current, popular mode of expression. There exist a number of cities recognized as 352-001 global fashion centers or fashion capitals. Fashion weeks are held in these cities where designers exhibit their new clothing collections to audiences. The cities London, Paris, Milan, New York and Tokyo are all 640-460 headquarters to the greatest fashion companies and renowned for their major influence on global fashion.

Modeling is distinguished from other types of public performance, such as an acting, dancing or mime artist, although the boundary is not well defined. Appearing in a movie or a play is not considered modeling. However, models express emotion in their photographs, and many describe themselves as Stock Tips actors. Models are generally not expected to verbally express themselves unless to visually enhance a photograph.
