Latest Vivienne Westwood Anglomania melissa shoe

Lady Dragon Anglomania + melissa shoe
Vivienne Westwood's third Anglomania design for melissa shoes is now available priced just £70. 'Lady Dragon' is a plastic peep-toe slingblack which comes in five colourways (peach, lemon, pearly white, pastel blue and dove grey) with heart motifs alongside a glittery version featuring Vivienne's signature Orb.
This collaboration with Westwood is set to be the latest best-seller from the Brazil-based shoe company that has revolutionised plastic shoes and which, in its own words, doesn't actually create shoes but instead designs 'fashion accessories'. Back in 1979, Brazilian shoe giant Grendene developed the PVC sandal known as 'jelly shoes'. Since then, the company has developed an ecologically-aware production process in which every product is recyclable and challenged the world's perception of plastic by fusing its thermoplastic technology with the talents some of the most innovative designers on the planet. Alexandre Herchcovitch has injected his designs with oodles of fun and since designing his first melissa collection in 2002, has contributed two styles each year; J Maskrey first produced a 'bejewelled' collection for melissa in 2003 and continues to design skin-jewellery inspired collections; New York-based Egyptian designer Karim Rashid developed his first melissa collection in 2005; the mighty stylist/designer Judy Blame shared his signature punkish vision in melissa boots and shoes in 2005; Brazil's legendary Campana brothers have created six successful styles so far; revered Brazilian stylist Isabel Capeto developed the 'Sweet Lips' collection and award-winning architect Zaha Hadid joined forces with melissa in 2007.
For Westwood the partnership has been particularly exciting because it's enabled her to "create modern products of a very high quality, but at affordable prices". And, there could be the rub. Anglomania + melissa's Mary Jane shoes at Brown's Focus and Liberty have been huge this winter and already melissa's Australian website has already sold out of some colourways of Lady Dragon and expects just a small quantity of the Orb version to be available in March.
Angloamania+ Lady Dragon melissa shoes are available from all Vivienne Westwood stores as well as Brown's Focus and Harvey Nichols.
