United Nude shoes
Möbius strip footwear
United Nude has been around for a couple of seasons now, lurking around in the fashion background, showing its unique footwear in off-schedule and obscure exhibitions whilst begging press not to give them any exposure until their patent was in place. Finally the legals have been sorted and we can shout about United Nude without fear of endangering their business. The brand is a partnership between a Dutch architect and an English shoe designer who were literally inspired by the Möbius strip (a one-dimensional mathematical curio), which they have applied to shoes. The result is a collection of sculpted wooden slip-ons which look like infinite loops. Imagine 21st century Scholl sandals with added aesthetic interest and you get the idea. Möbius shoes come in high, mid and low heels and are reported to be ultra comfy as well as beautiful. With showrooms in London, Toyko and Milan, the loop is attracting the trendiest of toes.
- United Nude is available from Poste Mistress, Kurt Geiger and Harrods in London priced £90-£150. For more stockist details, telephone 020 7569 3148.
