Girl meets boy
New look lady boys
If you've got a Tom boy in you, now's the time to bring him out. One of the main trends for autumn/winter is the playful use of boyish accessories and looks by girls. You can be subtle - just wearing a big boys watch on your arm will take you in the direction of the babe/boy look. For a more thorough approach, boys' secondhand school blazers can look great with skinny jeans and plimsolls especially with custom details - try adding frayed edges and wearing your collar up for added attitude. Boyleg pants are more popular than ever (Sweat Betty has great ones and Figleaves has just a few of its DKNY ones left). Thick, wool stripy scarves in the old university style look very cool with a totally ungeekish outfit to contrast the boy swot image of the scarf. Boyish accessories can work well with this season's mini skirts, but bear in mind that if you don't want to look like everyone else, avoid the obvious. Ties for girls are being sold everywhere on the high street, from Tammy Girl to TopShop.
