Blow gets Super

Off schedule guide goes style magazine

London's alternative style magazine, Blow, has returned only this time it is Super. Published in black and white on a miminal budget from 1992 to 1997, the title fed many a fashionistas' need for unpretentious editorial that didn't pamper to the makers of luxury goods and glossy ad culture as well as being a channel for upcoming designers showing off-schedule during London Fashion Week. "Before the magazine there were a few us who literally used to fax a list of shows to people," says publisher Michael Oliveira-Salac. Blow's rep for providing the most accurate information on what was happening at Fashion Week outside of the British Fashion Council tents was such that when monies for a full blown magazine weren't available, the crew contunued to publish the essential Blow Off Schedule guide which proved itself invaluable to anyone wanting to explore the underbelly of Fashion Week. Now renamed SuperBlow, the bi-annual title has come full circle - as well as Blow's off schedule guide, it features fashion articles on Fashion Fringe, duck (sic) tape ("it's spreading like wildfire"), hoods, Judy Blame as well as a shoot by Isabella Blow and one starring "Brixton's First Lady" Cooly G. Issue 1 is out now and available from boutiques and selected bookshops priced 2 and a half quid.
