New looks with belts

Designers are drawing attention to our middles with a slew of outfits hitting the shops which focus on waists. Armed with a couple of new belts, you can update last season's clobber and instantly look more with it. There are two main ways to wear the look - cinched waist-style leather or elasticated belts which are worn high and the skinny belt look - great with jeans or doubled up, across the body.

Accessorize has an attractive, three buckle corset belt (£28) - perfect to nip in the waist and it can look great over a coat or jacket, while Oasis has single buckle belts (also £28). Don't be tempted to buy a woven metallic belt, especially gold and silver - cheap and nasty versions are available from almost every street market and the look is well rusty.
