just wondering cos ive only really seen grime mentioned in a negative way and only rarely. there must be some people feelin it! or am i on my own on this one. just want to take this opportunity that im not a wannabe rube bwoi cos i like grime, i like uk garage and now im feeling grime as well! hopin i get a response from this so i can get some yousendit love goin on! |

Despite most of you wearing "street wear" in your bumpkin midlands village. You've never stepped on the street in your life. You will not understand street culture and street music because you wear "street wear" (which incidentally, no one on road actually wears). So I wouldn't bother worrying yourselves about grime, it will go over your head. But there are a couple of people outside of zone whatever who appreciate grime and can relate to the ROADS. colm - crazy D + hatcha always kill it, fwd is big. yeah i listen to grime, used to be really into it, got lots of dvd's and tapes of loads of battles/freestyles and raido sets. understand tho, proper grime doesnt consist of stuff like the mitchell bros, wileys album, kanos album etc, grime should be freestyling on pirate radio, where it all began. |

unfortunately there is no grime/dubstep nights in manchester - promoters dont want the inevitable scalls which is a shame as it seems to be going on in other northern cities without much bother... Grime scene is inflicted with this gangsta shit, which if truth be told is what makes it attractive to a lot of people, myself included in a way - that last video cracked me up |

Virus Syndicate are def one of the better crews out there. I got a Manchester mixtape and their MC's stand out and you can't really go wrong with Plasticman on production. Don't think plasticman has produced any virus syndicate?? All Mark One i think. yeah.. virus production is mark 1.. they are just mates with the plastician.. just remixes you might have heard. plastic and mark one have pretty different styles and sounds used.. markone tracks lay a little more flat than plastics.. dub step seems to be pushing the creativity born through the grime scene to the next.. even alot of the straight grimey boys know that.. hence all the work done between the grime/dub step production and mc's.. grime is street music, so in their rhymes they are often just aggy kids tryna vent their anger.. which makes for pretty poor lyrics sometimes, just brag and battle lyrics.. dub step = no lyrics. haha.. so its hard to compare the two on a wordy basis. i guess virus are sitting between DS and G.. nice place to be i guess.. mark one has been big on the scene for pushing things forward. but grimes what grime is.. ive been deep into it for a good while now. and stil some hot shit is coming out. the trend for council estate youts. but thats exactly what it is. but that wasteman saying no one can listen to it unless they from the slums is a bit slow... yeah, perhaps lyricly you'll get more out of it if your a bow cat or rep a post code, but the lyrics are normally waste anyway, theyre not exactly bob dylan with pen-to-paper... but they dont need to be, its not what the scenes about.. its built on raves, beef, battle. and thats whats so good about it whats your postcode wasteman? whats a grimey cat like you doing on a fashion forum? you produce? part of the scene? 1 |
