Likewise, I have over 5,000 UKG MP3s - most of which I ripped myself - so, if there's a track you're missing, gimme a shout.

^Yep.

Drop me a PM to remind me and I'll upload it and send you the link over the weekend.

Also, SX Fuzz, I'm gonna test you now. Have you got an MP3 or WAV of Kutz From The Lab Vol 1 on Grooveyard Records?? I think it's vol 1, vocal goes "whatever it takes". If you've got that and you could upload it I'd be so happy that I'd post a cucumber vid.

I'm getting to grips with Ableton at the moment and this is my first effort. Looking for a bit of feedback from the fuk garage bods. There's no breakdown at the moment so just ignore the 20 second silence.

It's a bit one-dimensional, and the part after the breakdown sounds more 'post garage' or 'future garage' than garage garage (not that that's a bad thing). Seems pretty decent for a first effort to me! Would sound cool chopped and screwed.

Cheers Duff

What do you mean when you say one dimensional? Too repetitive? Not enough variation? Not enough layers?

I'm gonna put an extended part of the vocal in the first break, and use a chopped up version of it after the second break (which will come in) where the sample above ends. Also gonna add some sax or trumpets stabs throughout as well.

Any feedback is much appreciated

I don't produce (wish I could) but yeah not enough layers/variation would be about right, maybe it is the bass I'm missing? Foxy there makes beats so he's almost certainly a better person to ask.

definitely needs a bassline, layer up a sine wave with that synth thing i reckon.

good idea is to get a tune you really like, warp it and drop it into arrangement view. work out what happens when, ie crash every 32 bars, vocal sample every 16 bars, what sort of fx happen and when, how long the intro is, how long the main sections are, etc etc. then copy it.

So if you open up a WAV file in the arrangement view of Ableton it'll split up all the different elements into channels for you, with wave forms??

If so that's amazing.

no, i mean just listen through to it and work it out - sounds boring, and it is, but it helps a lot trust me.

Ahhhhhhhh, that makes a lot more sense. If Ableton could actually do that it would be immense. I get what you mean though, just match your arrangement up with the audio of the tune you've dropped in. Good advice. Thanks mate.
