Ive seen so many posts on here asking if there was a way to know how many watchers an ebay item had. theres just been a new tool added to Goofbay where you can see how many watchers an item has (how class!!)

Just go to tools section at goofbay and use the 'Get Item Watchers' to see how many people are watching it!

haha no not yet. the number of watchers tool is amazing i think, will be so useful when you are deciding how much to bid on something. also ive had sellers lie to me in the past saying "oh its got X amount of watchers" in order to try and get me to bid early etc or up my snipe.

Next thing on the cards is the goofbay toolbar where you can do all these things from a drop down box in your toolbar. you'd be able to see how many watchers, check for shill bidders, snipe etc all from your toolbar.

do you think many people would install it?

but anyway, for now im happy with just this new watching tool!

some of the ebay pulse items have 7000+ watchers Jawdropping!

At least it can give you an idea of how many watchers you need on a particular item in order to get on pulse

Ebay has forced Goofbay to take the watch feature and private feedback search down. These options were infridging on an individuals rights to privacy

the number of watchers is a bonus for the seller in most cases because if you think more people are watching an item waiting to snipe you'll usually bid higher or place a higher bid snipe yourself.

the private feedback checker and shill bidder checker tools are there to help protect buyers not (dodgey) sellers. ebay would prefer to protect dodgey sellers than protect buyers clearly.

its seller fees that pay ebay wages so its in their interests to protect sellers over buyers regardless of how dodgey a seller is ebay still get their cut of the dirty money.

the fact that ebay even allow sellers to set their feedback to private is somewhat debatable

This fucking stinks.

The whole idea of finding out if a seller is a rip merchant or not will only improve things.

Why Ebay would want to ban an idea of this sort is totally bemusing. One can only assume that within weeks Ebay will be "A Snide Free Zone"??

We all know that of course won't happen, so we have to question the motives of why they would want to do such a thing??

As someone put earlier - Money. If the fake sellers are allowed to continue selling then this will of course generate more money for Ebay. So in reality, whilst Ebay peddle the same old tired line that they "Are doing everything they can to combat the selling of counterfeit goods on Ebay". The truth is exactly the opposite.

They are closing people down who expose fake sellers, and are doing their upmost to ensure that the buyer is as confused as ever.

I think a call to Watchdog would be in order. They fucking hate Ebay, and it would be great advertising for your company.

EBAY = HAIRY PIE

Yeah I was thinking this may be something Watchdog would be interested in...especially if you had all your contact with them on paper with them saying to take negative feedback checks down etc.

Would be interesting to see what they have to say.

I don't usually have issues with eBay (Paypal, however, are cunts), but making Goofbay remove all that stuff is funny shit hhahahahahahaha...
