Anyone seen any decent laptop deals going about?
Getting the Mrs one for xmas and looking to spend £350 max. Would I get a much better spec at that price if I went for a desktop?

Cheers

PS Just to get it out the way.......

www.wizmarkcomputers.co.uk for Discounts on Dells mate.

The only Dell that they do for under that much is the A860. My housemate has bought a few of these for customers but he has had problems with them.

I'd get a Toshiba if I were you for that much. Or spend £50 more and get a Dell 1510.

My Dad had a Sony Vaio and liked it a lot. Until he discovered the wonderful world of Macintosh Eye-wink

Sony laptops are well built and stylish, they come with loads of bloatware though so once you get it you might want to remove some of the garbage they put on. However, good keyboard and screen which are most important aspects when buying a laptop.

Got an old macbook at the moment but i want something as an alternative. I am looking mainly for a lot of memory for music and music software and just overall decent running speed. Could do with a bargain, any ideas?

I'd keep my eyes open at Amazon this week with the Black Friday deals

Make sure you check out the refurbished deals on the currys site.. Normally some good prices and you get a years warranty. I grabbed a Quad Core with 6gb RAM and 1TB hard drive for £330 a few weeks ago.

Will check out both. Cheers guys. If you have any particular recommendations that would be awesome because i have no fucking idea when it comes to laptops apart from mac's now. I will literally just use it for music and the internet.

Music & Internet will work on any kind of laptop - are you using the laptop at home only? Or also bringing it with you?
