Wanting to get an alexander mcqueen skull scarf for my gf's birthday (although it is now summer), particularly those in black and white like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100-AUTHENTIC-ALEXANDER-MCQUEEN-SKULL-SCARF-NEW_W0QQitemZ230014045001QQihZ013QQcategoryZ3007QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

it seems like a lot of fakes flowing on the bay at the moment though.....does anyone know how to tell the difference is between the authentic ones and the fakes???

it is gonna be quite embarrassing if I get my gf and fake scarf and she finds out about it.....so please help me out fukers...Cheers!!

the difference is the quality. the real deal is hand-printed, and it's pure silk.

i'd say you have no chance in getting hold of one now - years after they were on the shelves - and so give it a miss. ebay is not an option.

on the subject of femininity, i find it hilarious that skulls can even be questioned. we've all got one. plus, the world would be a dull, dull place if we all wore floral prints.

I don't get the fascination, topshop sell almost exact replicas for a tenth of the price, and have done for a while, every 'indie' slag in Camden has about 10.

i was once blessed with meeting some ladies from the mirror's 'women' section (years ago, fuck knows if they still even have it) and they were exactly as i'd expected them to be. hideous, in a word.

i've never seen people grab goody bags faster.

fucking rock chic, lord almighty.

i think the real ones have a lable attatched with mcqueens logo on them and the fakes have it printed into the scarf only

also, scraf skulls are a reoccuring fashion staple. they were cool in the 80's, they were cool in the 90's, they were cool in the 2000's. i think its safe to say that you could lock it away for 3 years and then it would fly back into fashion.
then not only do you have a skull scarf, but its vintage
