Can't find any other alterations threads, so thought I'd ask in here. Has anyone ever had a long sleeve shirt turned into a short sleeve?
I have a chambray up in the classifieds and the sleeves are just a bit too short. No-one seems to be interested in buying so I thought I might take it to an alterations place and see what they can do. I'm assuming it's a fairly straight forward job, there's no extra fabric inside the shirt that could be used to lengthen the sleeves and they are the same width as a couple of short sleeve shirts I have, so the proportions should be alright. Just wondering if there are any issues that I've not anticipated or if anyone else has had this done?

Is it possible to lengthen a blazers sleeve length (theres some extra fabric under the cuff) without it showing/looking crap?

Depends on the amount of lining in the sleeve as well. There's always some excess but it's to account for when you bend your arms.
Also depends on the blazer material, could be tricky to get rid of the crease at the end of the sleeve if you lengthen it.

Same jacket as Mr Mazes in waywt OL japanese Bombed Blazer has about 2 inches under the fold of the cuff?

^ should be fine then, but check the opening as some jackets add like a diagonal cut off to where the stiching meets. Harder to do if this is the case

any one used Franco lately? need to get a winter jacket fixed up. No doubt on the quality of work but the finish on a bedford he did for me was awful. Almost tempted to go and see my local dry cleaner tailor who at lest finishes neatly

got a label under construction trapezium skirt/ shorts that are knitted. long story short i've taken out one of the layers of knit (made of two layers hooked together) and now they don't feel as substantial. can a tailor add lining to knitwear? does anyone know a tailor who's good with knitted fabric?

Anyone recommend a top notch dry cleaners in central London? Want to get my Junya varsity cleaned, but a bit worried about taking it somewhere that'll balls it up.

'Twins' on d'arblay street has been reliable for me, even removed a red wine stain from a marl grey sweater yesterday.
