APC Jeans Fit Guide New Standard: Essentially “the standard” jean, regular fit in the rise/waist, with a straight leg, tapering only slightly from the knee to hem. New Cure: The New Cure is the low rise, skinny jean of the group. Unlike the New Standard, the New Cure tapers from the thigh to hem, making a much more narrow silhouette. Petite Standard: The Petite Standard is essentially a combination of the New Standard and the New Cure. Think of this as a slimmer New Standard with a lower rise like the New Cure. SIZING One of the key things to getting a pair of APC jeans is picking the correct size. Usually, people size down 1-2 sizes from their normal size. The reason for this is raw denim will stretch out once worn for a few times. CARE APC are raw (also called dry) jeans, which basically means they have not been washed after dyed. This means that when you try them on, they will feel slightly stiff. This is the nature of raw denim. The appeal with raw denim is that over time, they fade and wear onto your body, essentially making your pair completely unique and personal. The best way to get a great pair of APC’s that fit perfectly and are faded and creased to your body is to WEAR THEM! Most recommend not washing them for at least 6 months so that the fabric has time to set in and mold to you. By waiting, when it comes time to wash you will get more denim fades and a more personal look. However, you can always throw them in the wash first thing and have them come out soft and a more even, relaxed color. Always wash by itself as there will be a lot of indigo that bleeds off the jeans in the wash. http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php?/topic/129986-apc/ |

just fyi, got a new pair of PS this monday. did some measurements at wrong weather with the guys and it's confirmed, vanity sizing is gone. so 29=29", 30=30", 31=31", etc. updated measurements for 2012: http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=665 edit: this doesn't mean you shouldn't size down, they will still stretch |

Do APC Dover Street give a discount on new denim if you trade in your old denim? If so does anyone know the discount given? I haven't read either stickied-link. |

50% off of a new pair of raw indigo denim when you trade in your existing pair of raw indigo denim (regardless of fit), but they must be very warn in, we're talking torn knee's and epic fadez etc. They don't take that many pairs in from customers for the butler series and there's a waiting list you can put your name and details on for a specific fit and size. |

Vanity sizing is gone in the 2012 batch of PS. Can't confirm the NS. Anyway, Contextclothing's measurements for PS are correct for 2012 so I suppose they also are for the NS model. http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=665 |

Why do we need two denim threads? if you read the over thread everyone's moaning about how many apc denim sizing related questions are clogging it up. |

Do they have to be apc raws? I have a pair of 501xx that are knackered. Also, where are they made? I got an apc jacket from the mr porter sale but it was made in Latvia so I returned. |
