APC Jeans Fit Guide

New Standard: Essentially “the standard” jean, regular fit in the rise/waist, with a straight leg, tapering only slightly from the knee to hem.

New Cure: The New Cure is the low rise, skinny jean of the group. Unlike the New Standard, the New Cure tapers from the thigh to hem, making a much more narrow silhouette.

Petite Standard: The Petite Standard is essentially a combination of the New Standard and the New Cure. Think of this as a slimmer New Standard with a lower rise like the New Cure.

SIZING

One of the key things to getting a pair of APC jeans is picking the correct size. Usually, people size down 1-2 sizes from their normal size. The reason for this is raw denim will stretch out once worn for a few times.

CARE

APC are raw (also called dry) jeans, which basically means they have not been washed after dyed. This means that when you try them on, they will feel slightly stiff. This is the nature of raw denim. The appeal with raw denim is that over time, they fade and wear onto your body, essentially making your pair completely unique and personal.

The best way to get a great pair of APC’s that fit perfectly and are faded and creased to your body is to WEAR THEM! Most recommend not washing them for at least 6 months so that the fabric has time to set in and mold to you. By waiting, when it comes time to wash you will get more denim fades and a more personal look. However, you can always throw them in the wash first thing and have them come out soft and a more even, relaxed color. Always wash by itself as there will be a lot of indigo that bleeds off the jeans in the wash.

New pair of PS seem good quality still, not as good as few years back but not awful and definitely not 'soft'.

Albam are decent, don't rate their fit much though.

yeah that's what's annoying about all Albam's legwear, the fit is just too dad on nearly all the items. plus if you get a pair of albam slim leg jeans the leg length is 34" and up, so by the time you get it shortened the opening is a big as a regular leg anyway. fucking hell! Evil

Softer denim ≠ lower quality denim. Any brand can starch the fuck out of a pair of jeans.

APC denim is sanforized so it won't shrink/there is no point in soaking. All that will happen is that you will loose a bit of indigo.

quest is right, they only really shrink the amount they stretched (maybe a little bit extra but not enough to justify a soak)

guess i was unlucky.

washed mine in 20 degree water and air dried them. they shrunk much with their second wash and are pretty skinny right now Sad

in fact pre-soaking removes the starch which takes away the stiffness of the jeans. that'd affect the way the fades develop.

Wear them and they should loosen up a bit, but once they get skinny there isnt much movement that makes them loser - the waist will return to normal though.

Most of the Urban Outfitters stores in London sold PNS last time I checked.
