Does anyone know of a legit place to order these now? They were released in the states last week I believe, so some company must ship them over here now?

For quick sketches say for an interior designer to help convey their ideas and thoughts. Going through a swatch of colours and browsing through photo's and perhaps researching on the net, taking measurements, collating all that data and more in an organic way through touch and taking back that information to the office to work on will I think be brilliant. And on the way there you're reading a book and the way back you're catching up on the lastest episode of Dexter.

Are you trying out your spiel on us before trying to sell it to your girlfriend? Laughing out loud

Nah Smiling just thinking of excuses for myself to get one, used the interior design jive because I can relate to it. When the iPad got announced I told the better half about it and she was sold, she really likes it. I think she wouldn't mind one for herself Smiling When she was thinking about getting a notebook I convinced her to go for the MacBook, she now a committed Apple fan! She uses PC's at work and comparing the two she says she'll always go for an Apple over a PC.

The PC vs Mac is such a stupid argument. They're both good for different things.

STOP SHOUTING AT ME Cry

Lol I'm joking why the hell would I want an Ipad only to do that of all things with it.

I didn't know it was an April Fools though - but suspected it wasn't true with the lack of retail links. In all fairness a product like that may happen, just like the tv plug-in ones.

A rumour on Macrumors is that Apple are waiting for the election before annoucing prices. Could result in horrible prices if it's a hung parliament..pound could hit as low as $1 = £1.

His argument is less to do with adobe and more to do with Google's Flash on Android announcement.

I think the comments about h.264 not being open are a little disingenuous. It's not free, true, but it is open in that you can get the standard and implement it yourself and in that respect it's very different from Flash.

Yes Adobe have opened up some of the messaging protocols and such like, and there have been non-Adobe tools for producing Flash content from before they even did that, but they haven't opened up the runtime, and that's the really important part. My guess is that it would be very hard for them to open it up in its current form, and that there are too many idiosyncrasies that code out there depends on for them to try and write a new one in the short to medium term.

In its current form Flash is responsible for almost all the application crashes I see on my Mac, and I can understand Apple's desire not to depend on that code base in their new products. Having said that Apple really need to sort out the other crash bugs in mobile safari, and somebody needs to make tools for HTML5 authoring that fill the same role as the Flash design tools.
