No no no if I meant it like that i would have said " how many rifs have you sold"
I was just commenting in general, in a rather drunken manor.
Seriously have you seen how many rifts he sells?!

If you don't mind me asking, which came first, the company name or the registration plate?

I sell lots yeah, its a niche market but one which which J600 dominates by a mile. It is top of search engines for everything (not just rifts, even terms like Nike Sandals, Nike Air 180 etc) so outrank the majority of national sportswear/footwear retailers (including nike). I know rifts aint everyones cuppa tea but they are still outselling most of the other styles nike have on the market.

Also J600 isnt just rifts now, it sells Dunks, AF1, Air 180, Air Max and other Nike footwear. Its a million miles from how fukers remember it 2years ago (me selling my own collection out of my bedroom!). Now theres a (small) warehouse, staff, £100k+ of stock etc.

Im known for being a bit of an 'ideas man' and always looking for an angle. Many many years ago I had an idea for a business. It was when you could actually register decent domain names before cyber squatters bought them up. I noticed that you could buy .COM number plates from the DVLA for £200 and no-one was buying them (there was tonnes for sale). You could also buy the matching domain names (for example J600.COM) for under a tenner because to most people they didnt mean anything. So my idea was to buy all the .com domain names (everything from A100.com to Y999.com - obviously only the memorable ones) and buy the matching DVLA plates and create a marketing company to sell them as web marketing packages. I was going to target taxi companies, limo hire, wedding cars, marketing/IT companies etc. I could buy the domain name and plate for under £250 and as a branded package I thought you could easily retail them at £999.

At the time I was fairly young (and stupid) and didnt have the balls (or brains) to approach anyone to finance my idea. I bought my own J600.com because i still liked the idea but never got round to setting the company/idea up. About 5years later I was talking to someone about the idea and they really bought into it and thought it was great and was prepared to invest in it. Needless to say all the domains had been registered and it was too late.

So there you go folks, the story of J600.com (not a lot of people know that! haha)

The site looks awesome now and that's some impressive SEO that you've conducted too.

aye cheers. done some good stuff with the SEO side of things, getting lots of traffic and enquiries (and sales) but supply is the problem at the moment.

although we can get an account with Nike, they want us to be exclusive to their uk network. We wouldnt be able to source nike outside of their uk network, meaning we couldnt sell deadstock we'd got from collectors or anything sourced from Japan/U.S etc anymore (which would pretty much ruin the whole point of the site) we'd be limited to 2 colourways of rift per season (same as office or schuh etc). Bit of a bummer really.
