Jawdropping!

Came home last night to see the front door to my flat had been forced open and my flat had been burgled. Quite a lot was nicked mostly electrical stuff and jewelry it totals at about 3 grand.

ps3 + games
wii + games
psp
ipod
money 70 quid
dell laptop
two watches (£380 hugo boss and £220 armani)
girlfriends ring + braclet (Tiffany)
louis vitton speedy whatever it is.

Now i have contents insurance and i have made a claim. However the insurance company have forwarded on the claim to a loss adjuster. Does this mean they are gonna send some one to screw me ?

Hide a shit load of stuff and claim the extra , they even took all your computer equipment , right Eye-wink

Insurance companies are cunts , claim for everything now cause you sure as shit wont be able to claim again without your premiums going up through the roof

Get caught out lieing and you will find it very hard to get insurance again + they will cancel your insurance and wont pay out for anything

Its going to be hard enough to even prove what you got, let alone fraud.

Th best thing to do, is take pictures of your valuable items and date them, then you have photographic evidence of these items in your house, this will speed up the process just incase you do get burgled.
Sad that people have to do this to protect what they have worked for Sad

You must feel violated.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that a person had been into my home, into my belongings and could strike again in weeks or months. They say it often happens to you a second time.

As well as receipts, it helps if you have kept any boxes.

There was a show I saw on TV recently about insurance claim workers, showing how they dealt with their customers and assessed wether they were eligible for payout, whether they were fraudulent claims etc.
They go as far as to even track down stuff bought on receipts, or shipments numbers on boxes to the company they were bought from, as so many claims are false.
They said, even if the claim is genuine, it can sometimes take as much as a year to get a payout.

Its one thing to have contents insurance, but its another to actually have your insurance company hold a full record of it.
My parents once had an inspector from their insurance company around who spends all day going around the house making an assessment of what you have. Its amazing what comes up... even things like garden ornaments, that you probably wouldn't even think twice about.

Think I saw that. There was some immigrant guy living in a bad area that made a claim for massive TV's top of the range PC, fridge I think even and they were saying it was well dodgy and they wanted to see the boxes for all this stuff and he had the boxes for everything! They paid out

Would have been the perfect crime if you hadn't just dropped him in it

true, luckily we've never been burglarised...had cars stolen/broken into, and shed burglarised, but thankfully not the house
