My tickets for airtransat took a while at the weekend.

I haven't worked out if I like or dislike Vancouver. Everyone walks so slow and as I said too many wierdos.

I kid you not, this happened:

you know how chinese tourists always seem to stop dead in the middle of the road when you're walking behind them?? well, going along a reasonably main road in vancouver, a car full of chinese folk stopped dead in the middle of one of the lanes and they all opened the windows and pointed at shops.

people there are terrible at parking as well

NOBLE: Whats the cheapest way to phone home from abroad? Last time i only went for a week and racked up and extra £80 on my bill from using my phone minimally.

Don't use your mobile phone, they are always going to cost a fortune when roaming. If you have to call people back home, get yourself a calling card from a shop, they are much better value for money.

Lou I could never decide if I liked Vancouver either. Whenever I went down there I just wanted to get back to Whistler after about a couple of hours. It's a really nice looking city, but it doesn't have the same feel to it as some of the nice looking big US cities I've visited, like San Fransisco for example. That said it has recently won the UN's top city in the world for quality of life. I'm sure if you have a proper carearr job it would be a great place to live because so much is on your doorstep.

It's a strange place though because of the fact that you can walk in a straight line down West Hastings street and go from the Sea Warf, to the business district, to designer shops, to more shops, to bars, to the complete shithole full of bums and junkies to the gay area.
