I don't know what it's like now, but it was a shithole 10 years ago when my mate lived there.

which is better than islington without the sea if you ask me.

never lived there but people who do always like it. been lots of times.
in summary - wicked in summer, depressing in winter, town centre at night can be chav tastic. pockets are still bit crusty.

I've only visited but I love the place. Don't know how much tourists would piss you off if you lived there though.
Brighton and Manchester are the 2 places I'd actually quite like to move to if my job wasn't a consideration.

Im about 20 minutes away and I aspire to live there but cant afford it Sad Yes , there are parts that are seedy and dirty but I love it Laughing out loud Really diverse , always stuff to do and see .

If you are buying you are looking at , at least 130K for a crap hole flat Eek 150-180K for a passable one in a decent part of town

Brighton is such an amazing place, so many students, local aswell as from abroad. Always something going on, fuck loads of pubs/clubs/bars and usually great weather. Plus its got a beach. Shame you didnt like it (shithot...) but what was the weather like? I remember you saying it was really windy on the what are you wearing thread, any city, even brighton, isnt going to be that attractive on a day like that. Most people who go to brighton love it, and so do I. On the flip side, it was the drug capital of england last year (maybe thats why youre goin?!) and ofcorse like anywhere there are parts of brighton which are seedy and ugly, like Whitehawk, but ive only been there 3 times. I know Jake Unkut used to live in brighton, maybe he has something better to add!
