What are you wanting to do? You realise phone companies will give you a free child just to keep you on side?

phone whove youve got a contract with, ask them for pac code to be sent to you. it takes a few days to generate (theyll probably offer you lots of better deals and any free phone) onde your pac code comes through post you have 30 days to goto a new shop and tell them you want a new contract and tell them you have your pac code. they enter that and you keep your same number.
good because no need to give a months notice that youre leaving.

say you get your new phone with that pac code on 27th, your company will send you two bills. your normal one to 26th, then one for one days phone use.

just phone your company asap ask for your pac code, as i says it takes a couple of days to come.
no your new network dont take over your old contract.
you sign a new one with a new company, you cant keep the same number if you dont get your pac code.
yes you need to give your old company a months notice and usually they say they got it a bit late so will end in like two months time.

you can end a phone contract at any time; BUT, you have to pay any remaining months left on your 12 month contract at your standard monthly rate (£25 for example)

A PAC code is just a code that is allocated to a particular phone number. You can request that PAC number at any time from your network (orange for example). When you get a PAC number, you give it to your new network provider (o2 for example) they will then use that PAC number to apply your number from your old network to your new network

Hope this is clear, and helps

no you cant go tomorrow, you need to wait for the code to come through the post. but when it comes you goto the shop on any day and sign a new contract then it ends (the current) the minute your new one starts.

yeah, you'll definatly be able to cancel- but chances are, they'll make you pay for the privilige. However, this may prevent you from keeping your number... i'll just check
