I fly lots for work, trondheim -> copenhagen in piece of shit french plane half the paint falling off and the emergency door alarm was being held together with dirt and the wire twisted together, in flight catering was a cup of water.

very interesting. Within the last 2 years i have become scared of flying, i think it is because i think about consequences too much and i give too much thought into what is happening. I'm not sure i am scared of flying... its the fascination of crashing, i dunno.... scary though, well not scary just weird...

anyway.. yeah have a nice flight

what is most scary about that is the plane was still being used until 2007.

its not that nuts its mental projection of consequences of other peoples actions or things out of your control which could lead to your death. like when i had a car crash and i thought i was going to die i can be driving along and then be able to mentally imagine crashing and the consequences based on the previous experience (note i have absolutely no interest in doing this), extending that to a plane crash based on what has been seen in films and thinking what could happen or what would happen is just your mind wandering under the lack of control were everything could just go totally wrong on landing or takeoff and you would be killed.

Its like sometimes when I walk out on my balcony I envision jumping over, almost like my body wants to do it...

^ When I crashed my car I actually enjoyed it. The only thing I disliked while it was happening was knowing it was going to cost me loads to get it fixed and then the embarrassment of having to phone my dad to get him to come and get me etc

i think, if wore happens, its the fact i have no control over my death, i am a passenger of an object destined for catastrophe. Although i do not cling onto the seat.. i just kinda "deal with it".... when its my time etc....

Paul, funny you should say that.. when i get to a balcony or something higher than i am use to i have an urge to jump off... duno if your being serious though...not down with the kids etc..

Reading accounts of the qantas incident the other day, the pax had no idea what was going on since communication is the last priority for pilots, for all they knew they were crashing since the plane was making an emergency descent.
