Give me your recommendations please!

Nothing to do with guitars please (they are evil:)). Dance / Rap vibes.

I'm looking for something beyond the obvious fabric et al axis, though those places are obviously great from time to time and deliver some killer line-ups. Any good lesser-known spots?

Turnmills - round the corner from Fabric.

Canvas - Kings Cross
The Key - Kings Cross
TDK - Kings Cross

Egg club - forgot (never been)

The End - Holborn (10-15 mins walk from Tot crt rd)

Ministry of Sound - Elephant and Castle (Only on a sat though, but check sites as they do DNB or Westwood night/RNB night on fridays)

All these are dance places and on a friday or sat.

There are many more though, check out viewlondon.com, go to clubs then select the night your going you want to have a few sweets or sleeves Eye-wink.

Theres also a site called dontstayin.com or co.uk, quite good listing there too.

I personally like MOS at the end of the month and The End during the month.

100% Dynamite at Elektrowerkz, Angel is always good value for money. They have weekly special guests (I've seen Roots Manuva & David Holmes) spinning Reggae and Dub ect.

OK Cheers. I went to a nice little club called Corsica Studios under Elephant and Castle with two smallish rooms.

Ive been there, I thought it was shit.

It has yeah, 2 small rooms and another small room with another DJ and a bar. Place could do so much better if they had a half decent DJ in there.

They played some mad trance, realy bassy too, any ideas what that type of trance its called? Its different to the standard trance which I hate but this type was pretty cool.

Yeah I'm a regular at PP for FWD, the dubstep night. The system is indeed ridiculously good! I always laugh at dnb morons ejaculating over the Valve system when the one in PP is miles better in terms of clarity and warmth and is approximately 1/10 the size.

I went to a dubstep/techno night there and it was live.

Not really sure about the Trance as I generally hate trance.

Yeah man, Im getting into tech myself, some stuff is a bit harsh though and some stuff is spot on. I really like the Dave Clarke set from Sonar. Someone posted it in the yousendit thread, just searched for Dave Clarke in the fuk search box, should be the first results.

Theres another set with Jeff Mills in there too..... ho yeah.

Yeah Techno is where it's at for clubbing no doubt! Loads of good minimal house and techno at the moment too. There is a good comp mixed by Ricardo Villalobos called Taka-Taka about.

valve is a strange system, admittedly no where near the best but well worth seeing once. It blew the power at the Coronet and Bx Academy, was quite surreal standing in pitch black with no music ears rining to fuck.

Bloody hell, Taka Taka is about 4 years old!

If you want some good minimal/tech have a look for:
Conaisseur Recordings - Grand Cru 2007
Efdemin - Efdemin
Cocoon Compilation G
Gabriel Ananda - Bambusbeats

or you could try some real purists dub techno, Deepchord - Vantage Isle

Depends what club you go to.
Shoreditch has loads of bars, Charing Cross, Soho just to name a few places.

Bang Face at Electrowerkz in Angel.

Utterly mental.

100% Dynamite there is good too. Cans of Red Stripe £2.50.

One of the rare places in London that is just good fun with no for of pretense at all.

Thirded on 100% Dynamite at Elektrowerkz. Very good atmosphere and mix of folk enjoying the music rather than trying desperately to look cool!

^ bit pretentious but generally an older more chill crowd, system downstairs is very nice. Been to a few electro nights there and its always performed well. The chill out room is good as its actually outside. Security are cunts though and will not have any pissed up shinanigans of any form, and also its an absolute mission form kings X on foot.
