Who's feeling it?

I started commuting by bike about 3 months ago and I'm loving it - free, green, wicked exercise, quicker than a bus and good fun too. Totally converted.

I want to get a new bike at some point, anyone get any tips? Any fans of single-speeds?

What lubricants do you use Jesus? (no homo)

Or is that the drivetrain pre-lube?

Easiest fit a new chain then clean & lube regularly with something like this.

Laughing out loud Give it a once over with some wire wool, probably just surface rust. Grease the axle a bit as well to the nut from seizing.

word man. great collection of bike. i want it all!
i thought i was bossin with my new front wheel.. Laughing out loud

timmbo you could do an internally geared hub with your setup. otherwise just put a bigger chain ring on and power through the hills. your knees will love it!

nice one MrW and Flasket Cool

rust has come off the 'cog' easily with some steel wool, will buy a new chain.

is that as straightforward as this bit, or do i need to take the thing apart? can't see myself being able to do that Laughing out loud

yeah i wouldn't bother disassembling it. save it for when your bearings need replacing. with a new chain on it'll feel like a brand new bike.

nope, just by eye, you might need a chain breaker tool to chop off part of the chain to make it the right length however.

Bought a new bike today. Stock pic below and yeah, I know it's not a 'proper' bike, but I like it. It's a hybrid.

Had to ride about 3 miles home with it and not having ridden a bike for probably 20 years I was all over the place. Luckily there was a boozer at the half way point for me to regain a bit of equilibrium.

Any recommendations from bike-heads on things I should know/could do to improve it at all are most welcome.

Nice Jesus, is that the shimano di2? Love the idea of electronic shifters. Do they work well?

the mechs and cabling is di2 - the shifters are custom so a bit of a hack, work well, one click up and down, multiple clicks when not moving move the mech when in motion

for the front is fine

for the rear id prefer a hold and multiple shift, alas not to be, although the campag eps now does this
