Who's feeling it?

I started commuting by bike about 3 months ago and I'm loving it - free, green, wicked exercise, quicker than a bus and good fun too. Totally converted.

I want to get a new bike at some point, anyone get any tips? Any fans of single-speeds?

Possible sex pest - http://edinburghcyclechic.wordpress.com

(random internet finds / pictures from other fashion forums / cycling)

I'm going to have to be more conscious of facial expressions while out cycling....

My chain cleaner broke the other day, it was a halfords budget one but it was ok and lasted me about 3 years. Now, should I replace it with a Park Tools one:

Or use the money and buy some proper cleaning tools:

Good timing, been spending the last few months cleaning my chain with a toothbrush and end up with grease & muck everywhere, that Park looks spot on as all the cleaning's enclosed.

Wouldn't bother spending that much on brushes, reviews not great either.

finished restoring one of those bikes last week, the peugeot. not the best looking bike in the world but very proud of the transformation, it was an absolute heap before! i hope the new owner gets the original peugeot decals for it, that would really set it off. i've got a couple of others that are half done at the moment just waiting on some parts to arrive before i can make some more progress.

Probably a newbie question this :

Just got the cycle to work scheme through from work and it's the halfords one (yawn).

So i've taken out the full 1k and i have been on the website looking at which road bike i want. I'm down to the carrera virago, cinelli experience or the cinelli gazzetta della strada.
Which do people recommend?

Thing is, i'm 6'2, and from all the guides i've seen i'll need a frame about 59-60cm i think. However, the XL versions of the virago and experience are only 56cm-58cm. How can that be true? Would a XL virago fit someone over 6'? Why wouldn't they make a bike big enough for someone over 6'?

Or would it fit, it just has a more aggressive ride?

The only bike at halfords for 1k that had a decent size frame is the cinelli gazzetta della. Is this the only bike big enough for me?

www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_872939_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

Need some help please!

I'd spend some of the money on a helmet, accessories etc rather than lumping all 1k on the bike alone.

You do realise you don't have to buy from Halfords? There are other stores out there that accept Halfords cycle2work scheme vouchers, ones that stock Bianchi etc.

look for more in-depth sizing too, the frame size is just meant to be the seat tube length but some are shorter/longer than what they say, if you're under 6'3 you should be aiming for an XL Ubercool
