Who's feeling it?

I started commuting by bike about 3 months ago and I'm loving it - free, green, wicked exercise, quicker than a bus and good fun too. Totally converted.

I want to get a new bike at some point, anyone get any tips? Any fans of single-speeds?

Yeah it was a toss up between this and a similarly priced Elite. Good shout on the HR monitor, got it setup in the garage at the mo, will give it some proper use on weekday evenings over the winter. Are there any training plans out there? Been looking at some respiratory trainers as well for later on.

Cool aitch

I've got the Elite Crono Fluid, never used a turbo trainer before but really impressed with it. Worth a look on here, hundreds of programs you use, works well if your Cateye does cadence.

Really good, Swede - only thing missing is the HR monitor but I'm gonna buy a separate HRM for running anyway so didn't wanna drop the extra dollar on the Edge 500 with HRM. Upload to Garmin connect is pain free and there's also a Garmin Desktop Training programme which gives you all the data on your desktop too. Read out is clear and all the information that you need is readily available on screen during the ride - also comes with 2 docking clips so I've put one on my MTB and one on my road bike and can simply change the device between the two.

Gotta admit, I probably would have gone for another Cateye Strada which was on the bike that I had teefed it if it hadn't have been for the deal that Garmin were doing but the 30 quid cash back offer sealed the deal.

Cheers for that link, the cateye doesn't do cadence and I need to reattempt getting it setup on the rear wheel again. Couldn't get the sensor close enough to work.

How loud are these Turbo Trainers when in use? Wouldn't mind one for the winter months but I've got a young 'un and don't wanna wake her up when I'm going at it in the garage of an evening.

One I've got is plenty quiet enough, only moving part is the roller which is virtually silent. The wife was doing 1hr workouts on it in the basement, I couldn't hear it at all upstairs.

Mines about as loud as a washing machine. But I've heard it's a lot less noisy when using a proper tyre.

Laughing out loud you been after one for quite a while yeah? i do have two you're welcome to, but you'd have to jimmy broken keys out of them. the postage may be more expensive than the locks themselves however.

Sensa doesnt look too good to me but it's probably cause they're new to UK making it hard to find decent reviews and info.
You looked at Felt?

Or Ribble? Bought my first road bike from them few years ago and they always give good sizing and build advice..

Both decent quality.
