If your dropping that much money on denim, might aswell make sure it's selvage. Fair do's the cut of the 19cm is pretty ace, but you can get New standards for half the price...

Go for some Japanese denim. You'll see the quality is visibly better immediately, with the denim being more slubby, and textured.

OK my mistake ^^ Sugercane, 45 RPM, Samurai.

Don't get me wrong, Dior's are nice, but I just don't see the point of dropping that much on such an average quality denim.

Just because they do Selvedge doesn't make them quality jeans... I seem to remember Topman or Gap doing Selvedge jeans? Anyway it's all about the cotton, the way it's made and the dying process Smiling

I purely bought my Diors for the fit and cut, not for the quality.

^^ Yeah, forgot about that! The Japanese brands tend to use the best materials/ most compehensive dying process when producing their denims.

I'm thinking more of the brands based in Japan.

i agree selvege doesnt make a jean quality. ive got a pair of topman selvege what was £30 and they are better than some selveges ive paid over a ton for. i also agree about the japenese having great denim brands but they all seem a litter ott for me except a few pairs of sugar canes ive seen.

OTT in what way? Skulls are very very minimalistic and probably hold the closest resembelance when it comes to cut, to the Dior 19cms. I'm sure seenmy could fill you in as he's owns/owned both. In fact a lot of them are minimalistic when it comes to pocket design!

Erm have you not heard of Raw denim? Pretty much all the Japanese repros have raw in their collection. As for the back pocket detailing I'm sure someone can explain that... Oh and Skulls have NO back pocket detailing whatsoever, apart from a small red tab which has two very small skulls on it.
