Its my mates birthday tomorrow and unfortunately "everyone" is going suited and booted - I will be wearing a plain black 2 button suit from zara and probably a plain white shirt but want to make it look a bit more casual.

I have my work shoes which I can wear:

yes they are shit but they are comfy and cost £30 from clarks Eye-wink

Would brown shoes and belt be ok with a black suit/white shirt as this will deffo look more casual, I would love to wear some cons or something but it looks a bit twattish imo - opinions anyone?

Thanks

as long as the belt and shoes are same color it will look fine. White trainers with a suit kills it imo

with a suit, you can only wear white cons (CLEAN LO WHITE CONS) plain white fitted t-shirt(preferably v-neck) (blue or black suit)

black suit will go well with a white shirt and brown belt combo

try to make sure your belt and shoes are the same tone of brown tho

Converse with a suit looks shite imo. I'd go with some desert boots and a fitted v / crew neck smedly. That'll look dapper

I think something along these lines could look fairly smart...

Im really bad at smart / smart casual dressing - and its harder because im not willing to drop £££ on that sort of clothing Eye-wink

I think I will look for a v-neck jumper and brown shoes / belt in town tomorrow - thanks for the opinions!

Full size runs in my local too. Plus some U-neck type knits.

i'd stay from trainers ad a suit also, but im sayin if you were to do it, i'd have to be a casual suit (one button) and clean white cons, and the cons wouldnt fit the suit, so it'd have to be a white T

but yeh, dont do it

Personally it's not my taste either (much rather wear a nice pair of boots) hence why I used the word "could" but main reason for posting the picture was that it might help make his mind up.

It's a contrived look nowadays, but it can be pulled off imo..

Agree with Vazza though, a pair of nice boots would look good.
