The earth's mass is increasing, but so slowly that if the rate remains constant until the sun becomes a red giant and engulfs the earth, the earth's mass will have increased by only about 0.0000001%.

Errrrr......he definately spends a long time banging on about it, and I thought he resolved it. It was around that bit when he was on about those french dudes who tried to measure the earth with string Laughing out loud

edit. Or was it the distance between the earth and the moon that they tried to measure with string ? Puzzled
