No thread on this yet?
OK none of the home nations made it but lets face it:
England would've went out on pens having put all their faith in an injured player.
Scotland would've beat a decent team then made an absolute balls up against 2 shit teams and had to put up with 'Bravehearts tried so hard etc' for the 30th tournament running.
N Ireland would be the same as Healy scored 10 goals in the process.
Wales............erm, Don't think Wales have qualified for a tournament in my life time Laughing out loud

Anyway the bookies have Germany as favourites. The World champs are only 3rd favourites. Do France have the hunger for it? Holland are falling out already and Seedorf has demanded to be excluded! If Torres and Fabregas play like they did this season then Spain have to be close. Same goes for Portugal with Ronaldo, Deco and Carvalho. Larsson has come out of retirement for the 3rd time!

I'm going for Spain to win against either Holland or Portugal. Dark horses: Croatia and Russia.

Hopefully going to get tickets for:
Holland Vs Italy
Switzerland Vs Turkey (no chance Laughing out loud)
Holland Vs France

Just please not another tournament of anti-football Sad

supporting holland, they play exciting football and have some decent young players. but money is on spain. will watch all the games still but it is so depressing.

Poland cause this country is 50% that now anyway. Will put some money on to still get the same sense of excitement I think.

might support sweden too (actually I think in real life this is the team my mates have given me) cause it gives a fine excuse to join the london swedish community in pubs and naked after parties.

I've just found out Steve Mcclaren is off to Euro 2008 as a pundit. What an absolute piss take of a decision by the BBC Evil Evil Evil

Mr Motivator himself

Was reading World Soccer magazine and it had a preview of all the teams. What a pile of shit! National teams are becoming irrelevant.
So many of the players aren't even european. Pepe is 100% Brazillian but gained a Portugese passport so 3 months later he got capped, Vonlanthen of Switzerland qualifies as his STEPdad is Swiss!

Has anyone done a Fantasy footy team for this? Anyone fancy setting one up. Would be better as people won't lose interest as its only over a few weeks.

Get it going Goldie

Was gonna put a tenner on Portgual or Spain to win it. Remember Im the worlds worst gambler though, so expect both to go out without winning a match

Opening game Switzerland v Czech Republic kicks of next Saturday 7/06 at 5pm. It lasts just over 3 weeks and all games kick-off at 5pm or 7:45pm.

While I'd like England to be in it, I am enjoying the absence of 85% of sport coverage turning into total unfounded optimism of how England will do and shit quotes from England players after a game saying how 'we weren't happy. We'll need to step it up next game...' only to churn out another 6/10 performance. Again.

If anyone wondered....info release to from Ofcom today.

ITV and the BBC will be sharing coverage of Euro 2008. All of the matches which they will be showing will be on ITV1 and BBC One except for four in the earlier stages of the tournament which clash with other matches on the same evening and which will therefore be shown on ITV or BBC digital channels.
