No real thread for it and was discussed just last week so on the issue of F1 what do those interested make of Hamilton being disqualified from the oz GP and points stripped today? Seems whatever the guy does if it's debatable he gets the book thrown at him.
It always seems to happen to Hamiltion, he's either a dirty driver or is harshly treated.
Interesting to see Jenson Button and Brawn GP flying the flag, strong British contingent this year.
Yeah, I've always been a McLaren Mecedes supporter but it's good to see it mixed up a bit.
On the subject of Hamilton it's not to do with the driving, it's about what he told the stewards. The big teams always seem to get treaed harshly in my oppinion.
jenson is average, he hasn't got the passion, desire, or fight that hamilton has, fact. Personally i feel that hamilton is the best british driver of the last 10 years if not ever - you have to remember that this is only his third f1 season. Brawn GP should be on top form with the amount of time and money that Honda spent developing the car, their story is a fairy tale but it will be different in abu dhabi - i would offer noble odds on them not having a driver in the top 5. Brawn don't have the financial clout to stay competitor this year, and definitely next year what are they going to use to develop a new car? combine this with two mediocre second string drivers and the current form won't last
todays decision is another example of the failings of the FIA, i re watched sundays GP late last night and the commentators seemed very confused when the safety car was deployed on the 3rd to last lap - even the official f1 placings showed hamilton in 3rd it will be interesting to see a offical statement from the FIA

I wonder what is going to happen to the three teams using that diffuser or whatever it is that makes them so much quicker (brawn being one), probably nothing... mclaren are working on their car, i hope that when they do come up with the solutions to suit the rule change, hamilton will be flying again.

Have to disagree with you on this one Ash. Whilst I'm a huge fan of Hamilton it's still early days and the the potential for him to succeed is great. His GP2 drives were legend with probably one of the best over taking manouevers I have ever seen in motorsport.
It's well know in the paddock that Button has talent, unfortunately his deals have not proved him well until now, but I think we will see some pretty cool headed driving if his car remains the one to beat. I'm sure the passion will resurface, proly already has.
I can't see Brawn slipping much, Mclaren & Ferrari will be up there but Williams are showing strong too, and with Frank it's only a matter of time till his team take the reigns once more. As for finances Brawn is a huge outfit and reaping in the cash. I think they could pull this season off in the top 3 if the diffuser row stays as it is.
Greatest British GP driver?? so many. I liked Graham Hill, from what I have read and watched but as a fan I watched Mansell come into the sport and make his mark, and for me he was up there with Senna and the Professor. Il Leone being one of the greatest drivers there ever was in the eyes of Enzo. Obviously before the days of the cheating Kraut.

Not really. F1 cars haven't been beautiful for a long time. They're built for purpose.
There's been a few nice ones in recent years but throughout the decades there have always been times when the designs went a bit stupid. 80's provided some really nice cars. Shame about the front wings this year, the only thing that really detracts from some of the cars.

The only one I like this year is the Williams. The worst one by a mile is the Renault; I'd agree with you on that. It's horrendous.

rubbish...2 of those seasons hamilton has been in the best car on the grid and he got extremely lucky winning his title, not even his fanboys can deny that. he still has to prove himself and he is nowhere near good as mansell - let alone any other british driver yet because he is yet to prove himself properly.

Whilst 'average' is probably incorrect for JB you are a bit wide of the mark on Hamilton. He's the prime driver out there, it's a shame the Kraut retired when he did because we will never see the almighty one truly challenged (except for Hakkinen).
