So who wants a six pack/slim waist for the summer then? Ineff went from been the guy you pushed past in the coat que to the guy you let pass you at the bar, all in a matter of months. Can you do the same? Some Tips Eat six times a day. 8 a.m. BREAKFAST 1 For Fats stick with Mediterranean-style fats such as olive oil, fish, nuts and avocados, which do not promote heart disease or cancer, but do have health benefits such as lowering your cholesterol and protecting your joints. 2 Use nonfat dairy products high in calcium. 3 Drink more water. Water helps mobilize fat stores, while dehydration prompts stubborn fat to sit tight (or, more accurately, sit loose). Many weight-loss experts believe that drinking one ounce of water (or any noncaffeinated, nonalcoholic beverage) per pound of body weight is the formula for effective fat burning. 4 Avoid carbonated beverages. DIET COKE is not a real DIET drink. Get the Water! 5 Replace some starches with vegetables. Example replace half your rice, potatoes or pasta with a cup of a vegetable such as broccoli, cauliflower, green beans or zucchini. While a cup of white rice contains 240 calories, a cup of mixed steamed vegetables has only 50. 6 Don't eat a big evening meal and less/no carbs after 6. 7 Creatine helps burn fat. For years creatine has been used to pump up muscles, but it also helps burn calories. A study published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine showed that creatine can help you burn an extra 100 calories a day. Try five grams a day, taken after your workout, for at least six weeks. 8 Vary your caloric intake. Instead of eating the same thing day in and day out try a srict two days a week and moderately three days a week, then give yourself a little slack on the weekends. Never giving it the chance to kick in its primitive survival mechanism that stores fat when calories are cut back. 9 Pump up the protein. When you decrease your total calories, you need to increase your protein intake an extra 20 percent to maintain your muscle mass and keep your metabolism in high gear. 10 No sugar in Tea!And of course no crisps and chocolate. Do your cardio in the morning if you can , 3 times a week, 40 min sessions after a coffee. FOODS Breakfasts - Cereals, Oat like - Oatabix etc |

Latest episode of Panorama focuses on energy drinks, running shoes & protein supplements for the "average" trainer. As expected the majority of it is hype, marketing and straight up bullshit. Don't agree with everything said in the episode (experience) but the common sense argument is OP. |

Saw that too. Creatine the only thing that they recommended, other stuff such as protein drinks/powders can be done by just eating good food. |

Point is that its cheaper and more time efficient to have a shake than eat chicken all the time. Anyone got a link to discussion about the show on a weight training forum? Havent seen the show but wouldnt mind reading some further thoughts on it. |

I agree Cracka, if I'm making a brew in the canteen I can have a shake. Doubt I could have a gourmet steak, here http://testosteronemuscle.co.uk/chit-chat-5/lack-evidence-support-sports-drinks-11063/ |

Cheers mate. I would be rather annoyed if it was found protein shakes 'didnt work' or have the same effect as eating a foodstuff which was a complete protein source. |

As with everything you have to take a step back, add some common sense and see if the person/corporate entity has an agenda. |

I used to be on a few BB'ing forums and Reggie (the owner) got in to a lot of heat promoting some products with flimsy scientific research behind them. He even had some hired guns flout this trash on the forums. On one of them - muscle-talk (I think)- a group got together and bought sample whey from all the leading bulk suppliers and big brands and sent them to the lab to be tested/see if the nutritional profiles were up to scratch. |

What were they then? |

I think they were some new fangled protein pill Regarding the protein profiles I can't really remember but myprotein had slightly lower % than stated (changed now) as did Bodytronics and IronScience. But if you do a bit of research I'm sure you could find the thread, it was around 60-90 pages! |

Gimmicking aside, One World Whey is the best whey protein out there that I know of, it comes from the milk of grass fed cows and is cold temperature processed. Problem is the price, it's about £125 for 2.5kg. Of course, there's no point worrying about what the best protein to take is if the rest of your diet isn't spot on. But for someone with an unlimited budget for food/supplements, who is already buying organic meats/veg etc and is concerned about health just as much as performance/the mirror then it's the best. Most of the main supplement companies use low quality shit ingredients. I'd just urge anyone to remember to use stuff like whey as it's intended, as a supplement and not rely on it as your main protein source. |

Hadnt been to the gym since the 11h July (holiday and lazy when I got back) Just went now and managed to do my regular drills at the max weight I was doing before my break. Was tough but I finished all my sets. Muscle memory is pretty cool. I was in agony for three days after this |

only read the first statement but it's total bullshit already. i mean, yes 160 calories of energy drink is the same as 160 calories of bread, BUT one has a lower glycaemic index than the other and won't give you so much of an insulin rush. better still get those calories in form of ground oats. thought everyone knew this crap these days. i mean i'm not one to avoid the sugary fluids, but i'm not going to argue that i shouldn't be replacing them with actual food. |

Ordered one a couple of days back and am regretting it even before I get it...won't be able wear it most days anyway due to work, which kinda defeats the purpose How is the Fuelband working out for you mate? I haven't got one yet, still considering it. |

Not sure if people listen to the Joe Rogan podcast; if not, check the show from the other day with Robb Wolf. Drops bare knowledge on nutrition. |

I haven't got one yet, still considering it. Only been using it the last few days, only downside so far is that it's useless for weightlifting. |
