Noticed a few gambling comments through poker and football, especially now the season has started again.
So anyone made any money on the footy or sorts this weekend? Or even lost?
Or any tips?

Personally I dont fancy spurs to go well this year, maybe look at everton to do well, and Man Utd to come closer than last year with handicaped betting. But really carnt see chelsea not winning again. Back WBA for the championship aswell.
Got me a feeling on UTD in the champions league aswell this year.

say your betting on Boro vs Chelsea tonight, and u think for sure that 'boro will loose then, theres 2 ways to go about it, either back cheslea for the win, which is just the same as betting on the winner in a normal bookies, or lay 'boro.

the advantage of using exchange sites is the odds are changing every few seconds. So say u back chelsea at 1.5 and they go onto score, their odds will drop down low straight after, so u can then 'lay them off' which means u have locked in a profit, guaranteeing u a payout what ever the score after. if you lay 'boro at the start of the match say at 5.0 and it doesnt look lilke there winning there odds to back will rise during the match, so back them at a higher price then you layed them at, and again you will lock in a profit.

basically you want to back high and lay low.

Lay is to be that something wont happen.

Back is at 1.61, with upto £25324 pounds avialble to stake on it at these odds, just like walking into a bookies and saying i think utd will win.

Lay is at £1.62, this is people who want to bet at a higher odd than 1.61 and are looking for people to take their bet. They will win at this odd if utd win, so if you accept a lay you are in fact acting like a bookie and hoping utd wont win.

So if you lay at 1.62 with accepting £100 your saying give me £100 and if they win i will give you £162 back. so most you can lose is £62 but if utd lose then you keep their stake of £100.

Of course the next stage is to treat it like a stock market.

Tennis i would say is the best for if you want to get into exchange betting, the odds sway like crazy over the course of a few minutes in some matches. All if takes is one break and you can make some money, but would recomend not to do this unless you are watchin the match, always risky blind bettting

apparentley some guy on the boro forum had £50 on boro to score next goal when they were down 1-0.. this was, he wont that and put all the winning on boro to win 2-1, made himself nearly 2 grand. Not bad going
