After a cheapish suit for work. I dont need to wear a tie however.

I only have 2 suits at teh moment a dkny and a boss. The boss is a nice cut but its too big for me now and its not very durable it gets manky at the slightest thing.

Reason i need a new suit is that i have been hitting the gym hard recently after going single. Result is that i have lost a stone in weight and it really shoes with the other suits. What i would like is a more fitted suit

Was thinking Next or Marks for a decent suit for not much dough. Dont particulary want to spend more than 200 quid.

I am in Edinburgh by the way.

Any help appreciated

Few questions guys from a suit noob.

Anyone got any experience with Hugo Boss - Da vinci/Lucca suits how do they fit? big?! I'm looking at a sleek/slim fit jacket preferably.

Also as a size small 36 for a slim fit in shirts, I'm guessing it's best to size up to 38R as I presume going 36R will be tight?!

Im getting a 'tailored suit' in Hong Kong whilst Im on holiday here. Quick question, double or single vented at the back of the blazer? And how slim dare I go with the hem? Is 7.5" too skinny? I say 7.5" as thats the hem of a pair of jeans that I find too baggy for skinny/slim jeans but reckon would be good for a suit...

Where are you getting it done Roophees and what is your budget? Before you worry about those smaller details - i'd worry about the tailor as I have had some nightmare experiences with local tailors over here. The ones who say they can turn around a suit in 24/48 hours, you just have to ignore 99% of them as the fit is awful.

Check out tcny on Wellington Street in Central, it's my go to place for shirts and suits these days. They sell both ready to wear and MTM suits, and whilst it might cost you a little more than the Indian Tailors who hawk on the streets for business, but the attention to detail is great and you can get a decent suit.

IIRC shirts start at around 500hkd for MTM and Suits at around $5000hkd (£400). PM me if you are interested and I can hook you up with 15% off on the MTM stuff.

I think single has a slighly slimmer shilouette but really doesn't matter.

I've a suit that does to 6 3/8, i like stuff slim and it works great hemmed to sit just on the shoe. Persoanlly 7 i think would be fine for you

^^ I'm getting it done by a tailor I had recommended to me by a local. It's just off the high street in Central and it isn't just a random indian hawker cos it takes 2-3 weeks to get it done. Thanks Farrell I'll check out 7", will bring my jeans and see how they compare.

Just did the old trick of buying a suit online and this time it was a bit of a miss. Plumped for an Acne suit in my regular size - feel about as good as this in it.

How do Reiss suits fit? I'm usually 38 or 40 for suits (jackets), not sure which size to pick.
