After a cheapish suit for work. I dont need to wear a tie however.

I only have 2 suits at teh moment a dkny and a boss. The boss is a nice cut but its too big for me now and its not very durable it gets manky at the slightest thing.

Reason i need a new suit is that i have been hitting the gym hard recently after going single. Result is that i have lost a stone in weight and it really shoes with the other suits. What i would like is a more fitted suit

Was thinking Next or Marks for a decent suit for not much dough. Dont particulary want to spend more than 200 quid.

I am in Edinburgh by the way.

Any help appreciated

Need a suit for a wedding next summer in Cyprus - none of mine are really suitable.

Looking at £150 max - gonna be costing me a small fortune anyway with taking the missus and the nipper over there for a fortnight! Not really bothered about quality because I'll probably only wear it once.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm stumped!

If you're only wearing it once, for the same purpose i bought a NEXT italian slim cut suit (No Ban). The fit isn't too bad, and you can always get it adjusted. Cost about £120-£130 i think.

Mine was dark gray, looked good with a fitted white shirt to be fair.

One shouldn't do the top bottom of one's suit jacket correct?

I'm with San. Remember being told for a three button "always, always, never" from top to bottom if that makes sense.

Whenever I go for a suit they always tell me three button is best for my build but they just never look right to me. That Vis is some proper geography teacher steez but bizarely I like it

on a 3 btn, only the middle one should be secured.

2 btn has been more contempory for the past few years for formal suits, however on more classic hunting/sporting/country type jackets where you turn up the collar, 3 button is generally the standard.

i dun give a fuck about 'the' rules, i do what i fucking like, when i fucking like and how i fucking like.
and that means i only do up the top button on a 3 button jacket, and i think i look better than everyone else who follows suit (no pun)

Was in Start on Rivington St today and they are doing some very nice fitting suits off the peg for £595. They are also doing a made to measure (not bespoke) starting at 850 going upto around 1200 depending on choice of fabric with 2 fittings. They have two blocks one a classic fit (wider lapels, longer jacket) and one a more modern slim fashion fit (think Raf/Dior/slimmer lapels, narrower trousers) and they have a very nice selection of fabrics to choose from. I tried on a light grey suit off the rack and the fit was very nice not disimilar to my Spencer Hart suits. For those looking for a nice suit at a good price Id head here and they have a good selection of colours/fabric for off the peg. Also popped into Spencer Hart they are dojng a a new range for £700 a suit the Fabrics are not as good as quality as they usually use but they are still good all the same. The more expensive cashmere blends etc are still priced around a 1000 upto 1500 off the peg and then 2000 for Made to measure and nearly 4000 for bespoke. Just a heads up for those thinking of buying in the future as both the Mr Start at £595 and the new Spencer Harts at £695 are both very good and not silly priced suits (granted still not cheap).

It is "Sometimes, Always, Never" with 3 button suits.
I like the one-button suits that are current but I don't wear suits often enough to justify one. I do have a 100% cashmere blazer that's 3 button that I like.
