Worth a shot. Any hip hop discussions in here. Artists, new tunes, albums etc.

My start, top 5.

Mc's:
Lupe (mainly for the mixtapes, more complex than some of the parts of the albums)
Nas
Biggie
Meth
MF Doom

Special mention to Big L

Albums: Thousands of good ones but...
36 Chambers - more because it got me into hiphop than anything else.
2001
Life After Death
Illmatic
All eyez on me

This will probably fail miserably Laughing out loud

is there anyone in the underground hiphop scene in ny who el-p doesn't roll with, the guy is somehow still the centre of that scene

which brings me to the fact that (for me at least) his new album has just completely moved the goalposts for indie-label hiphop, guest spots from exquire/danny brown/killer mike & despot are all fucking great too

i meant wiki93 reminds me of company flow. tight rhymes from the kid.

The Killer Mike album that EL-P produced is crazy too.

Don't get it either.. His flow is very similar to Buckshots, the only similarity with Em is the hugely annoying voice.

the roots last two albums have been their best imo, they seem to be getting better and better.

Nothing they've done is even in the same ballpark as Illadelph

Really? Admittedly, I havent heard much from this kid. From his delivery, I wouldn't really comapre him to Buckshot (from what I've heard). his flow is slightly off-key, with the use of inners and lots of multis. the last few bars of the third verse are good examples of this.

wouldn't want to be the guy who nicked it, looked like about 10 guys landed on him at once

New Dilla album for what it's worth. I'm not really down with this posthumous releasing shit http://www.mediafire.com/?gg13nyipr6x5l64

This is pretty good though to be fair
